Vehicle Trimmer/Upholsterer

Embedded within Ventia, Skout solutions is a labour provider for the organisation. We are currently sourcing a Vehicle trimmer/upholsterer in the Amberley RAAF base's state of the art vehicle repair workshop working on defence base armoured vehicles. This role will start ASAP and have a temporary probation period of 3 months prior to going permanent.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the position include;

  • Conducting vehicle trimmer maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification within time frames specified. This includes, but is not limited to, make, install, repair, replace or modify the seats, upholstery, roof and door linings, interior trim and floor coverings of a vehicle.
  • Notifying supervisors if you detect any additional equipment faults and briefing on all completed tasks
  • Investigate materiel defects and reporting on unsatisfactory materiel, and drafting reports
  • Observing and applying all technical data and orders that relate to these duties
  • Maintaining housekeeping of workshop areas
  • Performing additional work related responsibilities as directed by supervisors such as first aid attendant, safety committee representative, unit fire team representative and or member of a business improvement team.

What's required:

  • Must possess a recognised Trade Certificate III of Proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to inspect and repair damage to motor vehicle trim and other fabric systems.
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary software necessary to support the position
  • Ability to pass a Australian Federal Police check
  • Current Drivers Licence and must be an Australian Citizen to work on the defence base
  • Basic understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management System desirable
