The Role
Ventia is currently seeking Range Handy Person to join the Defence Base Services contract. Reporting to the Range Supervisor, this role will see you based at Bindoon Training Area providing range services in exclusion zones during live range activities. You will also be responsible for land management duties including mowing, tree removal and reactive firefighting when required.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work outdoors in the fresh air and be exposed to the workings of a Defence Training Facility.
This is a casual, offering 38 hours of work per week with overtime opportunities. Your workdays will be over a 7-day period (Monday - Sunday) and will be scheduled in advanced around the planned activities of the Australia Defence Force.
To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure Red Flags / Red Lights are positioned correctly
- Preparation of ranges along with providing assistance to range users and customers
- Undertake groundskeeping and facilities maintenance activities including; grass cutting, tree removal, weed spraying, fence / gate repairs and other tasks
- Manufacture and repair range targets
- Initial response to minor bush firefighting activities when required
Requirements
- Current Driver Licence (HR Licence, highly regarded)
- Experience in Range Training Areas or Land Management environments (highly regarded)
