Primary Responsibilities
The Program Governance Manager is a pivotal role within the Evolve Program, Ventia's strategic
transformation program to modernise its ERP, HR/Payroll, data, asset and field service management
platforms.
This role is responsible for supporting the successful delivery projects by ensuring strong governance,
risk oversight, reporting discipline, and compliance with organisational project management standards.
The role provides critical structure, analysis, and control to enable informed decision-making across
the program and its stakeholder groups.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in PMO, governance, project coordination, or program analysis within IT or digital transformation environments.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- High proficiency in project tools (e.g., MS Project, Power BI, Jira, Confluence, Excel, Teams).
- Strong written communication skills and ability to prepare concise, executive-level reporting.
- Proven ability to work in complex environments with competing priorities.
Desirable
- Experience supporting large scale SAP S/4HANA or ERP transformation programs.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) and organisational risk
- management practices.
- Certification in project or governance disciplines (e.g., PRINCE2, PMO, Agile, PMP)

General Responsibilities
Governance & Controls
- Maintain and enhance the program governance framework, including stage gates, decision forums, steering committee processes, and approvals.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise PMO methodologies, compliance standards, and audit requirements.
- Monitor adherence to governance artifacts such as RAID logs, project status reports, business cases, and change control documents.
Reporting & Insights
- Consolidate project and program status updates, risks, issues, milestones, and financials into clear, accurate, and timely reporting for executives and governance forums.
- Produce dashboards and insights that highlight trends, dependencies, variances, and areas requiring intervention.
- Support scenario modelling and impact assessments for schedule, scope, and resourcing changes.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Maintain quality and consistency across risk, issue, and dependency registers.
- Facilitate proactive identification, escalation, and mitigation planning.
- Track action plans and ensure responsible owners deliver required outcomes.
- Change Control & Decision Support
- Manage end-to-end change request processes, ensuring appropriate documentation, impact analysis, and approvals.
- Coordinate preparation of decision papers, briefing packs, and governance submissions.
- Ensure transparency and traceability of key decisions.
Financial & Resource Governance
- Support project financial tracking including forecasting, actuals, variances, and benefits realisation.
- Assist with resource planning, capacity tracking, and vendor management governance processes.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct quality reviews on project artefacts, reports, and schedules to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Identify gaps in governance processes and recommend improvements to strengthen delivery outcomes.
- Support uplift of project management maturity across the transformation program.
