Job description

Ventia is seeking to engage an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our newly acquired Rio Tinto contract. The role will oversee and deliver a range of projects within the resources sector. Initially you will be working on rock breaker replacements across Rio Tinto's Brockman site. You will have a team of Supervisors and Trade staff reporting to you and you will need to ensure effective deliver of the projects, whilst maintaining a safe environment for you and your team.

Duties / Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Lead a team of Supervisors and Trades staff
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the business through proactive management of the employees
  • Lead the development and implementation of Job WorkPacks
  • Ensure environmental risks are considered and addressed for all tasks in area
  • Work with client staff to manage environmental risk from process and project delivery activities


  • Trade Qualification with 5-10 years industry experience in a similar role
  • Proficient with Project Diaries
  • Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents
  • Mine site construction experience - Highly regarded
  • Experience with an Enterprise Project Management system - e.g., Primavera or Microsoft Project
  • Strong report writing capability & stakeholder Management skills
