Ventia have a contract supporting the maintenance of Millmerran Power Station and Skout Solutions are currently seeking 4 Trades Assistant/Labourers to assist on 6 month project (12 hrs per day) on a 4 days on/4 off roster starting 19/01. Please note there's no accommodation provided, we are looking for people who can drive in and out of the Power Station each day or stay in nearby accommodation.
The role will be paid between $42-$44/hr (depending on experience) with OT1.85* paid after 10.5 hours worked in the day. On weekends OT1.85* will be paid for first 2 hours of weekend and OT2.0* (double time) thereafter. There will be a 15% shift allowance on nights and a weekly rural allowance of $91.50.
We are looking for hardworking individuals with a good attitude to fit in with the good working culture we have at the power station.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work with Operators to achieve plant performance
- Primary role will be clearing pyrite in the mills
- Clearing ash out in Power Station and Coal and Ash Handling Plant
- Use crowbars and sledgehammers to remove excess coal.
- Other miscellaneous Labouring tasks as required
About you
- Must have atleast 1-2 years Trade Assistant/labouring experience and a mechanical apptitude
- An ability to do physical work 12 hour shifts 4 days straight, 4 off and then into nights.
- Maintenance experience required, mining experience is not essential
- A commitment to OH&S practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Current drivers licence to drive in and out of Power station and construction card
