Job description

Ventia is seeking to engage an experienced and qualified Cook to join the team. This is a casual role based at Anglesea Barracks, Hobart.

You'll be working at least 20 hours per week across various shifts and this may vary with changing site requirements. The role is offering from $37 - $39 per hour depending on experience and qualifications + Penalties + Superannuation. It's an immediate start and a chance to showcase your skills for potential long-term opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship (mandatory for Defence sites)
  • Current driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, with proven kitchen experience
  • Strong time management and ability to deliver within set service times
  • A collaborative, professional approach
  • Understanding of special dietary requirements
  • Great attitude

Duties may include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with daily Mess operations and food service
  • Meal and food preparation
  • Operating large-volume cooking equipment
  • Experience in bulk catering is preferred but not mandatory

With the recruitment process, you will be asked to obtain an Australian Police check and DCAC Pass.
