Ventia is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager. Based in Cremorne, VIC, and reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, the Commercial Manager will provide support to the Projects team enabling the delivery of commercial performance and compliance targets.
Pay Rate: $550.00 per day + superannuation
Responsibilities
- Commercial representative with the supply chain and clients to work through commercial matters
- Devise claim strategies regarding potential/imminent disputes
- Provide advice to Project teams on specific commercial queries or concerns regarding the contract
- Drive and improve management and administration of commercial contract policies, processes, and procedures
- Lead commercial negotiations regarding large variations, significant claims, renewals as and when required
- Commercial risk identification and mitigation
- Active engagement with operational teams, e.g. contribution to PIPs
- Ensure statutory compliance (e.g. Security of Payment Act 1999)
- Lead strategic initiatives on revenue assurance to minimise revenue leakage
- Facilitate DOA approval process as required
- Timely and accurate on-boarding of supply chain, including preparation and negotiation of contracts and work orders, internal compliance assessments, etc.
About You
To be successful in your application, you will need a principle understanding of contract and construction law and project commercial administration systems.
You will also need the following:
- Proven track record in delivering commercial outcomes at an operations level
- 5 + years experience in commercial activities
- Manage BAU commercial relationships, lead issues resolution
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive strategic decisions and financial performance.
- Strong experience managing complex, high-volume service contracts
- Advanced commercial negotiation, contract management, and claims resolution capability
- Sound understanding of contract governance, project commercial administration, and reporting frameworks
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to balance client outcomes and commercial objectives
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across diverse teams and environments.
