Job description

The Ventia team at our Defence Base Services Site, Anglesea Barracks - Hobart, require an experienced and reliable Chef to join our team. This is a casual role with varied split shifts across weekdays and weekends, preparing meals for regular service and functions. For the right person, this is also a great opportunity to transition into a permanent role.

About the Role

  • Casual hours, varying week to week

  • Split shifts common (e.g. 06:30-08:00, 09:00-14:00, 14:30-19:00)

  • Start/finish times may flex 30-60 mins depending on requirements

  • Weekdays: mix of breakfast, lunch and dinner services

  • Weekends: generally quieter, with shorter prep and more à la carte

  • More hours available during busy periods, group bookings and functions

  • Opportunity for permanent employment for the right person


What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Chef with proven kitchen experience

  • Reliable, flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements

  • Strong time management to deliver meals within set service times

  • Team-oriented with a professional attitude


Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship

  • Ability to complete an Australian Police Check and Pre-Employment Assessment as part of on-boarding
