The Role

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated qualified Chef for an integral role that will contribute to the success of operational delivery within the hospitality and catering function of a high profile Defence Base Services contract.

This is a casual position based in Woodside, working 30 - 35 hours per week for a three month duration with possible extension. This role can see you travelling to Keswick and/or RAAF Edinburgh if suitable for the successful candidate.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to

  • Support and participate in the implementation and management the company's Food Safety Program. This involves actively identifying hazards, employing appropriate controls, and recording incidents in line with Company standards
  • Ensure all areas of the kitchen are clean, sanitised and presentable at all times
  • Report all defective equipment and tools to the Head Chef so that required maintenance can be scheduled.
  • Participate in regular stock take and inventory control activities.
  • Ensure efficient preparation and delivery of meal services from production facilities, by ensuring regular consultation with the Mess Manager regarding expected numbers and additional or unplanned requirements

Skills and Experience:

  • Australian recognised Commercial Cookery Certificate III, or above.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience within a commercial kitchen.
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills and proven experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
