Ventia have a contract supporting the maintenance of Millmerran Power Station and Skout Solutions are currently seeking 6 Mechanical Trades Assistant/Labourers to assist on a 8 week shutdown starting 14/9. We are looking for people who can drive in and out of the Power Station each day or stay in accommodation and bus in and out from Jeffrey's motel in Toowoomba (55 min each way).
The role is Monday to friday 6AM-5PM daily. It will be paid $44.81/hr for the first 4 days in the week and on the fifth day (Friday) $82.71 will be paid for the first 2 hours and $88.61 per hour thereafter. There will also be a $131 weekly allowance provided for driving in and out of the Power Station each day.
We are looking for hardworking individuals with a good attitude to fit in with the good working culture we have at the power station to assist on this shutdown.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters in various maintenance tasks around the Coal Ash Handling plant-
- Removal and replacement of spools, rollers, wear plates.
- Parent metal repairs.
- Replacement of guards.
- Other miscellaneous Labouring tasks as required
About you
- Must have atleast 1 years Mechanical Trade Assistant/labouring experience and a mechanical aptitude
- Must have Confined spaces and Working at Heights.
- An ability to do physical work 11 hour shifts 5 days straight.
- Maintenance experience required, mining experience is not essential
- A commitment to OH&S practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Current drivers licence to drive in and out of Power station and construction card
