Ventia are looking for new team members to join their hard-working team of Orderly's at Palmerston North Hospital. Orderlies facilitate the effective day-to-day operation of the hospital by maintaining consistent non-patient and patient transport standards and processes and delivering high levels of customer service.
This is a physical role that requires you to be on your feet and on-the-go, but it is hugely rewarding helping people in different areas of the hospital.
- Expressions of Interest for Casual Orderly/Cleaners's needed
- Shift work including Early, Afternoon and Night Shifts, weekends as well as weekdays
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts listed below;
- Monday to Friday 6am to 230pm- Ordinary time paid of $28.63.
- Saturday/Sunday 730am - 2pm- Time and a half paid.
- Monday to Friday 130pm to midnight- Time and a quarter paid after 6pm
- Monday to Friday 10pm to 6am- - Time and a quarter paid after 6pm
Tasks of the role include, but not limited to,
- Transferring patients as required in a professional, safe, and efficient manner
- Delivering documents to appropriate areas within required time-frames
- Blood and specimens are delivered and picked up within required time-frames
- Cleaning to be undertaken such as in theatre and cleaning equipment between use
- Delivering supplies and equipment to appropriate areas
- Providing professional assistance with manual handling and transferring of patients
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times

- All patients and other staff are always treated with respect and courtesy

- Previous customer service experience
- Must be available for Monday to friday (8-4) for the first week of training
It is a busy hospital, you will need to respond flexibly to changes. If there is an urgent need for Orderly assistance in a different part of the building, you will be ready and trained to assist.
