Role: SAP Trainer
Rate: $1000-$1100 + Super, day rate (depending on level of experience)
Length of Assignment: 12 months
Location: North Sydney office, Hybrid working conditions(minimum of 3 days in office, some travel required to deliver in person training

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Evolve Training Lead, the SAP S/4HANA Corporate Trainer supports the Program by preparing, enhancing, and delivering training materials for Ventia employees following the completion of the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Curriculum Catalogue. The role focuses on developing, tailoring and contextualising content for Finance and associated corporate processes, delivering training to end users and SMEs, supporting Train‑the‑Trainer capability uplift, and ensuring Ventia's readiness for Horizon One go‑live.

The primary responsibilities of the Trainer include:

  • Review the completed TNA and Curriculum Catalogue and use these as the basis for developing and tailoring Ventia‑specific training materials.
  • Develop and refine training artefacts (presentations, facilitator guides, exercises, job aids, simulations, and reference materials) that align to Ventia's Level 3 Fit‑to‑Standard Finance processes.
  • Deliver training sessions across multiple formats including classroom, virtual, and hands‑on practice sessions for Finance users and other impacted corporate functions.
  • Support the Train‑the‑Trainer model by preparing SMEs, assisting with facilitator guidance, practice runs, and confidence‑building activities.
  • Tailor materials to reflect Ventia policies, procedures, examples, and business context where required for clarity and usability.
  • Prepare training environments, including coordinating access, ensuring role allocations, validating data sets, and confirming scenario readiness.
  • Coordinate with Functional Leads and SMEs to ensure training content reflects final design decisions and system behaviours.
  • Participate in UAT, mock cycles, and change impact discussions to identify training refinements and update materials where needed.
  • Maintain version control and manage ongoing updates to training content as build, designs, or business decisions evolve.
  • Support go‑live preparation activities, including refresher training, targeted sessions for specific cohorts, and readiness reinforcement.
  • Provide post‑go‑live support through follow‑up training, hypercare sessions, and knowledge‑reinforcement activities.
  • Undertake travel to Ventia sites as required to support in‑person delivery and SME readiness activities.
Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • 5-7+ years' experience designing, developing and delivering SAP training within transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of SAP FICO processes, particularly in S/4HANA.
  • Demonstrated curriculum development and instructional design experience.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to communicate complex system concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Experience preparing training materials for diverse audiences including Finance teams, operational staff, super users, SMEs and functional and technical support staff.
  • Ability to work with training systems, datasets, and role-based access

Desirable

  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics and Reporting (Fiori, SAP Query and custom reports
  • Experience in service, infrastructure, or asset‑intensive industries.
  • Exposure to blended learning tools such as SAP Enable Now, WalkMe, LMS platforms, or simulation tools.
  • Experience supporting UAT, business readiness, and cutover‑related training activities.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Fit‑to‑Standard process models
General Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and maintain training content in alignment with the Horizon One scope and completed curriculum.
  • Produce easy‑to‑follow artefacts that support end‑user adoption and reinforce new ways of working.
  • Coordinate with the Training Lead for scheduling, planning, and sequencing of training activities.
  • Work with Change & Communications to ensure training artefacts are published, accessible, and communicated effectively.
  • Support training logistics and session planning, including environment checks and participant coordination.
  • Maintain training attendance records, completion status, and readiness summaries.
  • Gather feedback and apply continuous improvement to training materials and delivery methods.
  • Provide additional refresher or follow‑up training as required through the lead‑up to and post go‑live.

  • Adaptability: Able to adjust content rapidly based on design changes, user feedback, or program updates.
  • Attention to detail: Ensures training content remains accurate, up to date, and aligned with the system build.
  • Technical capability: Confident working with training systems, role provisioning and data-driven exercises.
