About the role
Ventia have a contract for supporting the maintenance of the Millmerran Power Station and Skout are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assist for 2 weeks (10.5 hrs per day) Monday to Friday on a Shutdown from 5th of May until 16th of May. This work is 5 days per week across 52.5 hours with an additional weekly LAHA of $91.52 paid per week worked.
If you can drive in and out you will be paid a LAHA of $91 per day.
If you cannot drive in and out you will be put up in self contained apartment in Toowoomba (that will be booked over the weekends for the entirety of the period) and be transported to and from the Millmerran power station (55 min drive). There may be more opportunities for shutdown work beyond this date.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Maintain plant effectively to the set standards;
- Work with trades assistants and other tradesmen to achieve plant performance;
- Complete minor plant isolation and operation;
- Utilise computerised maintenance management system to create/complete work orders;
- Complete routine plant maintenance
You will need
- Trade Qualification (Mechanical fitter)
- Maintenance experience required, mining experience is not essential
- A commitment to OH&S practices
- Current Drivers licence and construction White or Blue card
